“The combined business acumen of these keynote presenters is extraordinary, and we are honored to have them speak at ACTE’s first Latin America Education Conference,” said Ricardo Ferreira, ACTE Latin America Board Member and Director, ALATUR.
Each speaker will give a unique Latin American perspective, balanced with global insight, in his or her presentations. The general sessions will examine the shifting employment patterns in the modern economy, and if globalization encourages a “race to the bottom” in social and environmental standards.
The growing challenges that airlines will face the remainder of this year and in 2009 reinforce the need for change, and effective leadership is critical to deliver economic benefits and shape a successful future for Latin America aviation. The presentation, Panorama of the Latin American Industry, given by Rafael Alonso, Senior Vice President Latin America, Spain & Caribbean Customer Affairs, Airbus, will analyze current macroeconomic challenges that are impacting our daily lives as never before, such as the price of oil.

Alonso Gómez will discuss which countries within the region are destined to become players on the global stage, and the political and societal underpinnings influencing this trend.
The effects of globalization on businesses and countries in Latin America will be addressed by Dr. Ricardo Ernst, Managing Director for the Georgetown University Latin America Board, and a Professor at the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. In his presentation, Globalization, Competitiveness and Governability in Latin America. Dr. Ernst will deliver tools available to managers and politicians to design better strategies to benefit their respective businesses.
Manuel Tessi Parisi, President, INSIDE - Comunicación Interna Estratégica, will speak at the session, The Roundtable Challenge: Overcoming Cultural Resistance. He will focus on three major topics: Integrating CSR into Your Business, Online-booking Tool Adoption, and Travel Policy Compliance.
